Spread Eagle

With origins as a tavern and coaching inn from the 1600s, the Spread Eagle had, by Victorian times, also gained a reputation as an excellent restaurant.
Today it is still a landmark setting the standard for the fine food in Greenwich.

This is West End dining away from the stress of the City.

Set lunches are excellent value and the Spread Eagle is noted for its full vegetarian tasting menu; there's also some excellent drinking from little-known regions on the emphatically French wine list.

The restaurant is part of a working complex that also includes antiques, furniture restoration and antiquarian books - and even its own Gainsborough.
